Bombshell (Hollywood A-List #1) by C.D. Reiss

I think I’ve given every book that I have read by  C.D Reiss’s books 5 stars, except this one.  Now If you know this author, she is pretty clear that her books are NOT safe.

This book is kind of safe. This is a sweet book. I got goosebumps in the epilogue. I never get goosebumps. I love how Brad grows into fatherhood, and the support he received for doing what was right.

Brad is an actor who is a playboy, but he’s also a country boy who you can’t help but fall love with.  He’s living the dream until he finds out he has a daughter. A daughter who just lost her mother and is in need of some love and support.

No Nanny will do, it has to be Cara. Cara is laid back, she’s kind of go with the flow. She loves her job. She tries to stay out of the limelight because of past history. So she made a rule, never nanny for celebrities. It’s for her protection, one wrong move and your on the front page.

Cara decides to break her rule, because let’s face it, Brad needs the help, and she can’t say no. Even though she keeps picturing him naked.

Now that really what this book is about. A Nanny who didn’t stand a chance, and an actor who has his world turned upside down by a little girl named Nicole.

The sex is steaming, the feels are good, and all in it was a cute book. For some this will be a 5 star read, for me its 3.5 , I liked it 🙂

The Hot Shot (Game On #4) by Kristen Callihan ***

Holy toothache that was sweet.

giphy

Like almost too sweet.

I have loved this series since book one, so it was inevitable that I find one that I didn’t  like.

eh

It took me almost a week to read this book, and most of the time I devour a book in a day.

Now before I get into why, this wasn’t a fave. Let me explain why it might be yours. I loved Chess and Finn.

They have an easy banter between them, that kept me engaged and entertained. I loved the way they met. They are also sexy together.

The dirty talk came from Chess which was an interesting take, that I loved.

Finn is adorable, and love sick.

It’s not that I didn’t like it because I did, I didn’t enjoy it as well as the others.

I was bored, I don’t know why it seemed to drag on for me, it just did.

There was something missing, or maybe it was just too much sweetness.

I’m not sure if this is as a spoiler or not because we all know the couple is going to have some form of fight, but the fight confused me. I read it twice, like what just happened?

Not my favorite, but it may be yours.

Take Me Back by Meghan March

Kat and Dane both have secrets, and keeping them has destroyed their marriage. Now their on a vacation to fix it. 10 days on a remote island.

This is sweet, action packed, quick read.

People are going crazy of this book and I’m over here like…

eh

The back and forth from past to present  throws me off. So that could be why.

It was a little slow at first, but does pick up.

I guess my problem is I didn’t feel the connection between the Kat and Dane. I felt more of a connection between Kat and her best friend. Maybe that was the point?

It is what it is. Maybe it not you it’s me. 🙂

Dirty Doctor: A Novella (Steamy Coffee Reads #2) by Whitney G.

When it comes down to a book, we just want to escape and find sexy entertainment, well at least that’s how it is for me. This book did just that,

It was sexy, and covered some doctor fantasies I didn’t even know I had.

Garret and Natalie are a perfect match, well at least that’s what the app says, but they haven’t met. When they do meet, it’s under professional circumstances.

So things get a little messy and Garret gets a little pissy. The sexual tension is on point and the banter is great.

So why 3 stars. It was kind of slow for a short story. It was like by the time we got to the action, the book was ending.

All and all, its a quick, sexy book.

Venom & Ecstasy (Venom #2) by S. Williams, Shanora Williams

The first half of this book was almost too sweet for me, and it fell flat. Thankfully it did pick up. This wasn’t as sexy as the first one. I still liked it, but I can’t pinpoint where it lost stars, I really did expect more from Draco.

bored

This book is about Gianna’s road to discovery and healing. We get a lot of answers about   Draco. While I expected more from Draco, I was even more disappointed in Gianna. She was supposed to be this strong vengeful queen. She kind of just fell in line, I mean she did act out, but not for the right reasons?

As a dark reader, I expect the heroine to fuck up, I almost look forward to it.

spankdon't make that face

Gianna really took to getting in trouble to a whole new level, and it kinda of set the rest of book, leaving us with a broken heart at the end.

I loved the writing, but I hated the way it ended, but I look forward to the next book.

Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey

So this was a really cute read. Lucas and Daisy are at war, as the title states, anything you can do I can do better. They have been going at it there entire lives.

Daisy is a bit naive, annoying, and childish, but admittedly funny as hell. Throughout the story I’m thinking to myself there is something wrong with this chick.

crazy

Oddly enough it didn’t ruin it for me, I think it’s because we get to see Lucas emails, which is helpful.

I loved Lucas, I really did. He was playing to win, and he did win in more ways than one.

This is a light read, that I think just about any romance reader will enjoy.

Eleventh Grave in Moonlight (Charley Davidson #11) by Darynda Jones

 October? With that ending?

tumblr_ncbd1dtkcz1tv4k5po1_500

I loved this book, but of course I’ve been wrapped up in this series. We got less of Reyes this go around, which wasn’t a bad thing. This is more about Charley. She is learning more about herself and becoming more self reliant.

We get to see more of Amber and of course we get to meet new people. The main case is about the Foster’s, which if you remember are the people who abducted Rayes when he was just a baby.

Rocket wasn’t in this book, which makes me sad. I love that man. We didn’t get much of Charley working with the departed, which for some reason is my favorite part.

This book left me with a lot a questions, which I hate that I have to wait till October to have answered, but it’s fine….

I seriously kept turning the page hoping for more, it was sad and pathetic, because that ending….
